Wow where has the week gone. I have been sick up until just one day ago so I guess that explains it. I still do not have much energy. My latest project has been sitting undone for a week. Even Abby cannot get up enough ambition to do much. Well maybe next week. Basketball is over so no more games that should open up some time.

We Have enjoyed watching my grandson play basketball this year. This is his last year he graduates this year.

It is going to be a great day. We are going to the city and just bum. I wanted to post what I have been up to lately. We have this apple tree in our yard and it mass produced this year so I have been giving away apple and making apple pies and applesauce and yesterday I made bottled apples.

I usually don't bottle in January but I did not want them to go to waste. I thought I would end with a little bit of wizdom. Just be yourself and love life to the fullest. Have a great day and keep smiling everyone

This is a no picture post today. I got up late and am still sitting on the couch. Oh am I going to pay for this later. My sister is coming to visit and we have a basketball game tonight that my grandson is playing in. So off to change the sheets on the guest bed and shower and get moving. Yes we have snow! I had planned on an outing with my neighbor but with the snow we decided to stay home and go another night. We got about three inches and my poor little birds could not get at their food so I had to clean out the snow and give them fresh food. I do so hope they come back.
Today I am doing some organizeing. My card pattern box is a mess so I am making folders and organizing. I wonder how long it will stay that way.

I want to share a great book with you the picture is not too good but it book is wonderful. It is a book on life and thoughts about it and it is just what I needed. I found it on Amazon for free last night. If you have a kindle do download it you will not be sorry.

Today is another cold day here in western USA. Eastern USA has been experiencing tornadoes and I am so happy we do not have hardly any of those.
Just rain and snow here and not much accumlation. Great time to catch up on my reading and sewing. Here is a picture of my latest project.

Just a catch up. We have been busy with family and grandchildren and church this week. But today is a snuggle up by the fire and enjoy each other. I am working on a quit and I can hardly wait toget it to the quilters. We are suppose to get dome snow here in a day or two. I have really been enjoying the weather withoutit but it is a necessity for the water next spring. I am looking forward to a great year. Hope all my firends here in blog-land have a great year.

Some Kids broke into our church and set fire to it Wednesday. It did about one million dollars in damage. There was to be a gathering to earn money for a father of five that has pancratic cancer stage 4. The Event was moved to another church thank goodness but the damage is awful. The church will not be useable for about a year. I do not understand the minds of some people.

We woke up to nopower this moring. It was out all over three counties. A Frozen switch or something. Power company said it should be up by noon. Off the the doctor we will see if he can see. What we take to granite. I love the traffic light situation. All of a sudden everyone forgets what to do with out light. It should make for an exciting morning. Stay safe out there.

Time here is 8:30 P.M. I am enjoying a cup of tea. Today was a rest day.
Cold outside. Made hubby some beans and got his new laptop all set up. Now maybe I can be more active. Should have gone to curves but too cold to stick my nose outside. I am itching to get going on a quilt. MY hand is doing better. I go to the doctor tomorrow to get his ok. I did have physical therapy today and I think that is why I did not feel like doing much. They worked my hand pretty good. Happy Wednesday to everyone.

Oh the things I can do with my left hand now: write, type, open my pepsi, wash dishes and the list goes on. I am still going to physical therapy once a week. This has not been a fun time. I have learned that I am too independent and do not like to ask for help. Oh well the road to recovery is getting shorter every day. Sorry I have not been blogging, I intend to remedy that. Fall is here in Utah and I love this season. The colors are so beautiful.

Well I am surviving. Here is a picture of my hand

I had surgery to replace two knuckles and pin ine finger. I do not know if I would suggest it to any one but we will see how it turns out.Hubby is doing the cooking and cleaning and friends have helped too. I am learning tio use my left hand and am getting quite good at it.I hope all our bloggers on the east coast are ok. I feel so bad for them. I will keep everyone posted on my progress. I start theropy on the 12th.Take care everyone

Good Morning Everyone
Good morning everyone. Happy Tuesday everyone. It is beautiful here in Utah today. Overcast so I am sitting on my deck enjoying a cupa herbal tea. Usually it is too hot to sit here. The summer is speeding by so fast that I cannot keep up. This month my middle grandson turns 16. Wow where does time go. We have had a lot of water this year and flooding has been bad. Our garage goes under our house and we had two days that the drains could not keep up with the rain so we had to bail. Oh what fun. Can you say sandbag? I did have some but hubby thought we would not need them anymore as it had been dry here so he broke them up. Shouldn't have done that. Well everyone have a wonderful day. See you soon

How time Flies

I cannot believe how time is moving. Here it is March 11 and my last post was on Feb 25th. I wish the time would have moved this fast when I was working. Yes I am tending and we are potting training. It has been two weeks that we have been at it and today we had two (yes I said two)successes. I do not know who was more excited me or Ryder. We may get this down yet. I got my old laptop back from the shop and they said they could not fix it. So I told hubby he could have it to play with. He loves to tinker. Now this man is something else. He can get a teenager to work and that is saying something. So after much determination and asking questions and assisting I almost wished it had fallen off the face of the earth. You have to understand that DH is not techy at all. Everything he does on the computer has to have help from - yes you guessed it me. So I finally just left him at it and went into the bedroom to get away. Thinking what makes him think he can get it going it has been in the computer shop for a month. Well in he comes and it is running!!!!!
Do not ask me how he did it or what he did but I sware the man has angels on his shoulders. So I no longer can excape him now he carries the laptop to where ever I am asking questions about the internet and what he is looking at, and how to get to a web or where he can find something. It sure is a good thing I love that man.

It has been a busy week. Basketball games on Tuesday. And then on Thursday (yesterday) I attended an all day genealogy class that was wonderful. I have been trying to get out of a slump I believe due to the weather. Yes we have snow again this morning. I need sun!!!!! I have been working on my quilt and that is coming along nicely. I will be working on some baby blankets soon also. I just wish it would get warmer. No pics today as I am on my daughter-in-law's computer. I did get me a new lap top and I have been enjoying it very much. However her wifi if protected and I do not know the password. drat, I was hopeing to do some genealogy while I was tending today. Oh well such is life. Everyone out there pray for sun. I know that is different huh. Usually it is pray for rain. Not this year.

It is suppose to be getting warmer here in Utah and I am so happy. I am back tending grandkids at their house so no pics today. Maybe tomorrow. Our state was stuned upon hearing that our head coach of our NBA basketball team resigned yesterday after 26 years. It is sad but I am glad that he is going to have time with his family. He is an awsome coach. So it is going to be interesting what the Jazz will do now with the new coach. He has been the assistant coach for 6 years. Go Jazz.

Well I am feeling better but only because I have decided I will insert a new word into my vocabulary. The word is NO! I have been thinking and I have decided that I do more for my children than they do for me, so I am going to counter attack. I will tend your children if you will go to church with me. Do you want to guess what their answer will be? Oh I am getting sneaky in my old age. Sorry I have not been active but my laptop died and I do not know if I want to invest anymore money in getting it fixed. I do enjoy the internet however so I will proably fix it. At current I am on my daughter-in-laws as I am tending their two sons while they work. I find I am getting too old to keep up with little ones. It seems like I have been taking care if people my whole life. Do I sound like a pity party? Yes that is what I am having today. Just tired I guess. Well onward and upward. Well it is finally here. One more day and it is all over. I am so thankful for my friends and family that has made this last year a special one. One year ago I was reeling from the fact that cancer had been found on my kidney. Now I have had three good reports and all is looking well. May all of my friends and family enjoy a wonderful year to come filled with many wonderful blessings. And may my children ( you know which ones you are) go to church at least once in the next year. That is not too much to ask.

A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!
I looked out the window the what did I see?

We have lost our beautiful Tabernacle. It burnt down this week and it was like getting stabbed in the heart. This wonderful building has stood magestically in downtown Provo, Utah for hundred years. The stained glass windows were beautiful. The concerts held here were beautiful and the spirit there was so wonderful. I pray that they rebuild it. Even though it will never be the same.

Busy Week!

Well I started the week out with finishing up some projects. Then I thought oh I feel good enough to clean a little so I tackled my bathroom ceilings and walls.
Which found me here with a massive headache and back ache. Good thing DH did half of it. I wound up here.

Then Yesterday I tended my little one again and was even able to make some bread.

And today I am working on some baby blankets for our new arrival in December.

This is the quilt I started about four months ago and I just cannot get it done. It is not a me quilt. I bought the cute squares awhile ago and thought it would make up cute for one of the grandsons but I have had a demon of a time getting it quilted.

This is all I have left to do thank goodness then I can bind it and it will be done.
I like the grandma quilts as my children call them. Lots of flowers and leaves. I must get that from my dear mother.

I did get some tomatoes bottles but only 6 quarts. We have plenty from last year so we should be fine.

Well my love turned 68 today. We met the kids at the local diner and had supper and celebrated all the birthdays for Oct and Sept. There are about four that are four days apart. It was fun. Today was a busy day with phone calls from all the 11 siblings and kids. Then we also got visits from the greats too. And we got rain of blessed rain. It was actually a fall day today.

Sorry I have not blogged much this week. I have been fultime care taker for my DH and also my three year old grandson. My anxiety is up and so is my blood pressure I wonder why. Ha Ha. It has been a week of Drs and superman and pictures and toys.
They increased DH blood pressure meds so I am hoping that helps. The weather here is crisp and I love it. I can hardly wait for it to feel more like fall.

Busy Busy

I have been busy with baseball. My two grandson play on two separate teams and it is quite a major feat to get to them both. Here is one picture that I took cause I am usually standing up yelling and cheering and forget my camera. We also have a couple of wild fires here in Utah and it is making the air quite bad. Last night four families lost their homes and my heart goes out to them. I cannot imagine
what I would do in that situation.

Well I believe that I now have some time to post. DH is feeling better and getting outside more. I must admit that the AC does not do my arthitis anygood. Stiffer than usual and achey. Here is a picture of my straw flowers from my garden. They were beautiful this year.

Here is a project that I just finished it is a pair of baseball pillow cases. Maybe a Christmans gift. That is what I have been concentrating on lately. I want to get it all done.

No pictures today. We just found out that our last grandchild will be another boy.
We all had our heart set on a girl but this will give Ryder a little brother to play with. I cannot believe that the month is almost half over. I also have found someone here in my little community to quilt my quilts so maybe I can keep going and do some more. My hands do not mind the piecing but the quilting is getting a bit difficult. DH had another sick spell so He is under strick watch. Not too much sun, not too much work, not too much anything. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. God bless you all.

Sorry I have not been around lately. Summer is keeping me busy and with the garden now coming on I do not see that letting up. Oh well who can complain. DH and I celebrated our 40th anniversary two Sundays ago. Kids and a BBQ up the canyon for us and it was nice. Not quite as hot as the valley. DH has not been feeling very well for the past two weeks. Back is doing better but now he has other problems. I flew to Denver to visit my sister-in-law for one week and DH got sick. Out in the sun too long (result) dehydration and er visit. I just cannot go anywhere without him.

Today I recieved Chris "Diet Coke Rocks" gift and it is so much fun. I will post picture tomorrow. Raining here today so I am just chilling and still fighting the head congestion. I've gone herbal (green tea, echinecea etc.) so we will see how that goes. I do not want to spend the money to go to the doctor. I know I am bad.
Played out in the yard yesterday, did some weeding and some planting then cleaned a little house. Today it is so stormy I just want to sit and listen to the storm. I went to the nursery yesterday and bought flowers and tomatoes to plant. I Love pansies because they last so long. Our neighbors lilacs are going to bloom finally. I do not know how much I will get done as I have a visitor today. Ryder my youngest grandson is here to play. New Project Friday

It is going to be a wet day today. I am taking my friend up to the city to see the doctor so not much sewing going on here today. This is my project that I am pondering now. I have 18 of these cute farm blocks and I want to put them in a quilt maybe for someone special. I have not quite figures out all the details. But that will come. Have a great weekend everyone.

My stash / Tooo Much Fabric

Here is my stash these are two tubs mostly flannel that I have sitting in my sewing room.

And this one, there is some cotton in this one.

This is my sewing room and yes I know it is a mess. I bought a lot of fabric when I worked in the fabric area of walmart and it just grew and grew and grew.

These bags are complete quilt kits there are about twelve of them. They have a quilt a month kit that comes from one of the wholesalers and I bought some of them I could not resist.

This is my upstairs hall closet. A lot of this is flannel as I was once into making baby blankets and burp cloths etc. Now not so much and I have all this flannel. Yuck Ebay maybe? I like doing the quilts better.

More of the hall closet yes I know I need to organize it into colors sets. Soon.

Been busy with yard work but it is cold today so it is an inside day. I hope everyone is enjoying their yards and getting a little time to sew. Ok today has been very busy. I did laundry, paid bills, watered flowers, and made these cute fourth of july pillow cases. I just love classy pillow cases. Who wants a drab white pillow case?
Now for the giveaway. This spool of peaches and cream is autumn browns veragated whatever. and the fabric is 11/2 yard of cute bear fabric. It would make a darling baby quilt. Today I am off to a clogging competition with my daughter and grand-daughter. It is in Taylorsville. We went up there last year with her and it was really fun watching all the different teams do their thing. This is a picture of Iggy my cat. He should be named nusience? cause he loves to lay in the middle of the kitchen floor especially when I am trying to fix a meal. I tried to get a video of him chasing his tail last night but he got wise to me.

I am so content leave me alone. I have all these lovely pine cones that would be great for crafts. And do you like my solar toad that DH bought me? He broke one of my solar ornaments last year so he owed me one. I love it. I leave it on my deck so I can look at it at night.

Well I will take lots of pictures of the competition to post later. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Oh by the way the sun finally found our house. Bye for now.

DH mowed the lawn and it looks so nice. We have sunhine today it is suppose to get up to 70 degrees. I am so excited. Well I tried to free style quilt my quilt and with my hands as bad as they are it is not an option.

So I put it back on the hoop and it does not look that bad quilting by hand. I am bummed however I really wanted to learn to quilt by machine. Oh well.
I am really excited to get this quilt done because I have told myself I cannot start another quilt until this one is finished. I know I am not any fun at all.

These old hands are just not what they used to be. They do not close anymore so I drop a lot of things. They do not pick up grandchildren unless I am sitting down and sometime when I grab something it hits the floor. But I can stil flip off a bad driver if I wanted to but I do not want to cause I am a nice old lady. lol

I have so many garden projects I wish the weather would cooperate. We are suppose to get
rain again. My Flower spot needs tilling and planting I do have some wild violets

Cannot plant the garden until after May 15 due to frost bummer.

Fun Yard Sale Finds

Garage sale finds for today. These are for Chris at "Diet Coke Rocks" These I only paid $5.00 for both. You cannot beat that.

THis little pretty was also for $5.00 and she will sit at my entry way door next Easter with a Basket bull of eggs full of treats for the kids.

Had a great day. Not much sewing but a great day none the less.

Ok no pictures today. Spent the day with a friend at the doctors and just watching people. People are very interesting expecially street people. They just make you wonder what their story is. Some of they are so very bright and flambouant and others are so dark. Interesting.

Off to an estate sale today Here are the wonderful things that I found. I know I do not need any more fabric but I could not pass this up. It was only 1.00 a pound and the total for it all came to $5.00 This is going into my red and white quilt.

This lovely necklace was so antique looking and of such good quality that I could not pass it up either.

Oh and these book were only 25 cents. Yes I know I have lots of those too. As I was going through the estate sale I kept thinking this is what my children will have to do with all my stuff when I die. Oh they will have fun. Have a great weekend everyone.

I made me some more cute pillow cases.

I purchases me a new camera and it came in the mail today. I am so excited. It has a power pack and is recharable. So much better than purchasing batteries.

I also bottles Elk meat to clear out some of my freezer. Got to make some room.

I still have not figured out how to label each picture so I do not know how this is going to turn out. Well lets see what kind of mischief I can get into today. Have a great weekend all you bloggers.

Just to say it is beautiful outside. I am inside with a sinus cold. Yuck Oh well maybe I will go out later. On with my post. Yes I have too much fabric. I would like to share. Spring and her Dad

Our oldest daughter had her birthday yesterday and we wanted to make it a little special just because she is special as are all our children to us. So off to the city we went. I did not take a lot of pictures but here are a couple of us eating lunch at one of the malls.

Today I scrap booked. I need to get all my pictures in books and organized so I decided one day a week I will work on that project. Here are some of the results. I do not go into a lot of detail however I do like having them labeled so people know who they are.

Ok next project. I am going to empty out one side of these shelves, books have to go. I do not use them and have read most of them. Then I am going to move the shelves down into my fabric sewing room to put material on. Windy March day here not much going on Iggy my cat was wonderfing what I was doing. Abby my dog is just doing what I have been doing all day. Resting. Hands are swollen and hurting so it has been a do nothing day and it is killing me.

Here is the result of my second window clean. We did not have any curtains on this window and DH did not want any however these will not get in his way of opening the window at night for air.

That way we are both happy

Ok I think I have an idea on how to do it now. But this is a strange post to say the least. Here is also a picture of what happens when DH is done with the paper. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh I am frustrated I cannot post more than one picture at a time. How do you do it? Please let me know someone. I have tried quite a few things but obviously not the correct one. Also here is the yesterday's window accomplishment. Done and clean. Now I just have to move on the the next one. I am sore and stiff today. I guess I used some muscles who would figure.

I cannot stand it anymore. I have to get cleaning this house. Arthritis, bad back and the lot. It has to be done. So I decided that I would blog my way through it. That should make for an interesting and plenty of content. Here is the window in my bedroom. I have not been able to do any major cleaning for one year as I hurt my back and had kidney surgery for a tumor. Well I have got to get going I cannot stand it any longer the the fairies have not shown up. So down come the blinds and curtains for a washup.
